
Wake-screens are one of the most prominent placements on Amazon, as full screen advertisement appears when the Fire tablet device screen is turned on. Design is highly crafted, balanced, simple and respectful, adhering to technical specifications for different generations of devices as well as to ad policy guidelines. Clients' assets often are heavily reworked in layout, consistency across orientations, typography and copy.
In my time at Amazon I have designed hundreds of these ads; this has led me to be one of the EU reviewers for the "design bar raising programme", looking at work by other in-house designers from different parts of the business and providing advice, direction and final approval.
Sometimes clients provided specific design indications, but I had to use my experience and skills to rework and simplify, creating the ideal solution for the experience.
